Financial Controller - Film/TV Cutting edge Film & TV company currently experiencing rapid growth are looking for a strong Financial Controller to take responsibility for managing the day to day running of the Finance department in its production of the financial accounts, cash management, planning and analysis whilst managing and developing the Finance Assistant. The FC will support the CFO and serve as business partner to the Production team to ensure good governance and financial guidance as they seek to drive growth in the business. Key Responsibilities Responsible for preparing the annual budget, forecasts, monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, cash flow management and statutory reportingLead the year end close process and ensure a strong control environment is maintained to achieve a clean annual auditMonthly preparation of the management accounts with variance analysis and commentary and rolling forecastsDetailed project profitability reporting and analysis throughout the project's lifecycle to aid forecasting, future contract negotiations and pricing for future new project bidsBusiness partnering with the Production team, the CFO and the rest of the senior management team to drive growth in the businessManage and develop the Finance Assistant to ensure his continual career growth and ensure the accurateness of their transactional processingKey contact for external advisors including the bank, auditors, tax accountants, external payroll service providers and finance software specialistsEnsure all tax and statutory filing/audit requirements are completed and submitted on time including the VAT, PAYE and Corporation Tax returnsKeep abreast of all industry relevant tax and legislative reforms to ensure correct compliance and accurate revenue and cost recognitionDeveloping and refining "best practice" in all financial reporting and processesDeputising for the CFO where required Key Skills & Experience 7+ years post qualification experience (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)Hold a degree in finance, accounting, business, economics or other relevant fieldFinancial and commercial management within the TV and Film production industry at a senior level preferredProven leadership and team development / mentoring and coaching experienceStrong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the company, particularly with non-financial colleaguesAbility to handle multiple priorities simultaneously and to meet conflicting deadlinesHighly developed financial planning, budgeting and analytical skillsAbility to challenge processes and pro-actively implement changeCollaborative team player, relationship builder with a can-do, highly motivated attitudePrior experience within an SME will be a distinct advantage PLEASE NOTE: Due to the high volume of applications we receive we are unable to respond to everyone.
