My client is one of the largest independent firms of chartered accountants and business advisers in the East Midlands.They now require an Audit Manager for there Loughborough Office.JOB SUMMARY:The senior audit manager/ associate is responsible for a client portfolio through managing the client relationship and managing the audit department. The senior audit manager is responsible for the planning and setting of budgetary restraints for the audits in the portfolio and reviewing of work as necessary.Key Responsibilities:- To manage a portfolio of audits and ensure the audit teams are planned appropriately to fulfil the client's requirements. When necessary lead and manage a portfolio of audits.- To set budgets and audit objectives; and ensure staff adhere to them.- To review completion and finalisation of assignments for partner/client meetings.- To meet with all clients and manage client queries within the portfolio.- To develop working relationships with clients to understand their business and to identify any opportunities for cross selling of other group services.- To attend relevant networking events and prospect meetings to help enhance the firm's reputation and where possible support the development of new clients.- To mentor managers and oversee senior auditors and technicians working within the audit teams to ensure they are receiving effective on the job training and experience to complement their studies whilst also meeting work priorities.- To provide technical support to all staff when required.- To carry out performance reviews of staff when required.- To contribute to the development of the firm's procedures and standards for client work.- To keep up to date with technical matters by reading and attending relevant training courses.- To promptly report to their Partner any concerns which may affect the firm's client relationship e.g. money laundering, unethical business practice, complaints etc.- To respect client confidentiality and report any issues which may affect client relationships to their Partner.Person Specification- Must be ACA or ACCA qualified including relevant audit experience e.g. ideally 10 years such experience.- Must have solid staff management experience.- Must be able to demonstrate effective client inter-personal and management skills including the management of client expectations- Must be able to actively manage own workloads and be highly adaptable and utilise initiative to ensure completion of work.- Must possess IT skills to operate in-house programmes and prepare and develop spreadsheets as necessary.- Must be fully conversant with audit programmes.- Must possess a thorough working knowledge of accounting and auditing standards, the accounting provisions of the Companies Act, and relevant taxation matters.- Must be able to work to strict deadlines.- Must have experience of effectively managing costs and business planning.My Client offers:Salary GBP35k - GBP40k Dependant on experienceChildcare vouchersCompany pension schemeFlexible working hours for full time positionsAnnual holiday purchase schemeCycle to Work schemeTo Apply for the position of Audit Manager please see below
