Our client is a market leading software company with a global presence are seeking a talented Financial Controller to join theit team in their Edinburgh Head Office. This is a new position within the group and an exciting opportunity for a qualified Accountant looking to make the next move in their career.

As Financial Controller your responsibilities will include:

- Responsibility for accurate financial reporting across various regions
- Act as Business partner for the UK as well as the Australasia Management team.
- Develop the MI reporting capabilities of the business
- Producing reports for various management committees
- Manage relationships with external auditors
- Responsible for statutory reporting for UK arm of the business

The role is responsible for the accurate and timely completion of internal, external and US reporting requirements for the United Kingdom & Australia / New Zealand group of companies.

Additional Tasks may include:
- Ensure all tax requirements are met
- Prepare reports for Management Committee/s
- Optimise cash management
- Evaluate vendor pricing to ensure best value
- Control debtors; DSO and ageing at optimal levels
- Guard company's credit rating
- Ensure timely statutory reporting for UK entities
- Manage all financial and liability risk
- Assist in dealing with financial institutions
- Manage auditor relationships and compliance

Personal qualities, skills and knowledge required:

- Good business acumen and a high level of common sense
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to "see both sides"
- Ability to manage conflicts for the good of the business
- Strength to make a decision, but flexibility to change as business needs dictate
- Being unafraid of taking on challenges
- Highly organized, confident and self motivated with the ability to work to tight deadlines
- Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of team
- A genuine "get it done" attitude with the ability to prioritise and delegate as appropriate

A minimum of five years professional finance experience, of which two should have been in management or supervisory positions. Proven ability to understand modern technologies.

University Degree along with professional qualifications

Specialised Knowledge and Skills:
Microsoft AX Dynamics / Accpac/Hyperion
MS Products - Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Access.

Most important is a proven ability to think and act proactively with strong interpersonal skills. As well as commitment, flexibility and self-motivation the role holder must be keen and ambitious to develop knowledge and skills and more importantly, share these with the team.
