Due to our on-going success and our plans for continuous development, we are recruiting for a highly specialist Speech & Language Therapist to join our thriving therapy team primarily based at Woodstock House in Surbiton.

This role also offers the opportunity to work with our young adults (19-25 years) across our adult provisions located in Epsom & Croydon.

Woodstock House is a stunning property, set in 8 acres of tranquil grounds. Here, we provide an exceptional standard of complimentary therapies to young people with Autism, complex learning disabilities & challenging behaviour.

About The Job:
We are seeking an innovative, enthusiastic & forward thinking therapist with an interest and experience of working with individuals with complex needs. This opportunity is ideal for an applicant seeking the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge within a specialist educational setting. This exciting challenge offers the opportunity to work alongside a well-resourced department committed to the development of the young people in our care.

Reporting to the Director of Education, this role will include the following responsibilities:
Assess & evaluate the abilities of the young people and work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide support in both school and residential settings
Deliver individual and group therapy sessions & work in partnership with teachers / parents and relevant professionals regarding the needs of the individuals, emphasis on progression and attainment in augmentative and alternative communication skills
Advise and support school staff and residential support workers in the implementation of communication strategies
Set communication goals and provide the relevant support to achieve goals
Use assessment findings & additional information gathered through observation to develop individual therapy programmes with specific and measurable objectives
Produce comprehensive and detailed reports for annual review meetings
Regularly monitor therapy programmes and review targets in line with Statements of Special Educational Needs / EHC plans
Support senior management group with strategic, developmental planning
Supervise and support our established team of Speech & Language Therapy Assistants and identify and deliver against any training requirements

Experience Skills & Qualifications:
Recognised Speech & Language Therapist qualification
HCPC License to practice
Registered member of RCSLT
We are prepared to support a newly qualified therapist through competancies
Experience of working with individuals with special educational needs within a multidisciplinary setting is desirable
Experience of working with Dysphagia is desirable
This role requires some travel, ideal applicants will hold a clean driving licence and own their own vehicle
