The successful applicant will be an aspiring SENCO with a completed NASENCO qualification or a current SENCO seeking a fresh challenge. The successful SENCO will have the need to show their empathetic nature and have a thorough understanding of SEN polices and procedures.

As a SENCO you will be responsible for the strategic direction and development of Inclusion practice at the school. You will have to ensure that the school is fulfilling all legal requirements for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. This will allow you to work alongside teachers to develop appropriate strategies and practices to progress learners with special needs. The need to provide a professional development programme to ensure that all staff have a range of strategies to support and extend all learners, is an important requirement to the SENCO post.

The school require the SENCO to direct and supervise learning assistants and other professionals working with students with identified learning needs. It is essential that you can liaise with other schools to ensure continuity of support, learning and progress when transferring students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities to the school

In addition as a SENCO you will be responsible for monitoring provision for students with Special Educational Needs, Education Health Care Plans (EHCPs), students with disabilities, and Children Looked After.
