One of the UK business units is now looking to recruit a Divisional Finance Manager for its GBP1billion+ UK arm where you will be responsible for all financial aspects of the business from day-to-day accounting through to commercial decision support and long term business planning. It will be an ideal role for someone looking to combine a career in a fast paced, evolving, pressurised Finance function with a highly dynamic and commercial business partnering environment. Key duties include: • Taking full ownership of the P&L and key Balance sheet items, driving change and profit improvements within the Divisions senior management team • Creating the bridge between Finance and the business to support the business in all finance and commercial queries and decisions. • Supporting the FC and the business unit with operational and strategic decisions including sales planning, price planning, campaign planning, profitability analysis and SGA activity. • Taking full ownership for accurate monthly P&L's for submission to the European parent company, analysing variances against budget • Supporting non-finance budget holders with variance analysis and technical guidance with support from the UK management accountant. • Preparing the operational budget and reforecast processes, creating consolidated profitability for quarterly budgets and longer term forecasting and planning. • A key contributor towards the development of financial reporting for the UK Division • Working closely with the European accounting team and business planning function to explain all variances and representing the UK business in key meetings. • Accountable for and monitoring business targets, through preparation of financial performance reviews and regular meetings with the business. To be considered for the role, you should be used to driving best practice within a finance function ideally with experience of Hyperion or SAP or Oracle, building relationships with Shared Service Centres, and making continual improvement and efficiency savings. It would be desirable if you had expertise around SOX compliance and up to date statutory regulation knowledge. You should be a fully Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA or ACA) with strong technical competence, and possess a well-rounded understanding of business in general. You should be a strong communicator, comfortable working with multiple teams and be able to respond to changing deadlines and differing management requests.
