Our client is a leading provider of highway services in the UK with a turnover of GBP700m, you will be part of the commercial businesses and as Divisional Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the production of the management accounts and financial results for the North Division.Typical accountabilities include:Ensuring accuracy of the Divisional Profit and Loss statement and completion of Management reportsBudgeting, regular forecasting and reviewing variances to forecastsResponsible for all day to day financial aspects of the DivisionImplement and support the Group Management RulesProvide assistance and information to Management and Operational Staff, to facilitate accurate decision-making and develop efficient use of financial resourcesPrepare comprehensive reports for monthly Management meetingsProvide sound accounting advice and support to senior managementMaintain the integrity of the accounting systems and dataResponsibility for all aspects of the Divisions Balance SheetAlso provide accountancy support for the Vehicle Maintenance activity in the DivisionYou will manage a team of 6 direct report and will also be a member of the local senior management team and can therefore make a wider contribution than just finance.Ideal Candidate:You will be a fully qualified accountant, CIMA or ACCA etc, but are also open to applications from part qualified candidates with the right experience. We could offer help with further qualifications if appropriate, offering a fantastic development opportunity.Very strong management accounting skillsThe ability to produce accurate, understandable (to non-financial audiences) and timely information is essentialMust show a high level of commercial acumenPrevious management of a finance team would be highly desirableExperience of SAP would be useful, but operation of a similar MIS/Accounts package would be acceptable (we can provide training in SAP)Good IT skills are essential, especially excelExcellent communication skills both verbally and when formally reportingConstruction Industry experience is desirable but not essential, especially of NEC based contracts.A full current UK driving licence is essential as there will be regular travel to other offices within the Division for which either a company car or car allowance is providedBadenoch & Clark is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy.
