Headteacher, Primary (Central London, to GBP115k)

Headteacher required by an exceptional school to maintain and improve good Ofsted ratings within a challenging local stakeholder/regulatory context. The school is a mixed, large, innovative and high performing inner city London Primary Academy and has an above average proportion of pupils from black and minority ethnic backgrounds, disadvantaged backgrounds (free school meals) and with special educational needs.

London GBP75k - GBP115k pa + package, subject to experience.

The head teacher will have strategic and operational responsibility for the school.

Key duties include:
  • Provide inspiring and purposeful leadership for the staff and pupils.
  • Maximising the academic performance of all pupils
  • Monitor, evaluate and proactively manage school performance
  • Provide and manage an outstanding curriculum in line with pupils needs and statutory requirements
  • Maintain an environment that promotes and secures good teaching, effective learning, high standards of achievement and good behaviour
  • Monitor, evaluate and manage the quality of teaching and learning and standards of achievement of all pupils
  • Promote and monitor the continuing professional development of staff, including the induction and further training/coaching of a large number of NQTs
  • Stakeholder management and the maintenance and development of good working relationships with governors, staff, pupils, parents/carers and the community.
As the successful Headteacher, you will have:
  • Extensive experience as a high performing head teacher
  • A strong track record of driving and sustaining high levels of learner achievement and school performance and successful delivery against agreed strategic plans
  • Strong experience of training, coaching and mentoring a significant number of NQTs
  • A strong track record of stakeholder management
  • An understanding of working with an urban, culturally diverse community
  • A demonstrable ability to drive success in challenging stakeholder and/or regulatory/statutory contexts
