Accounts Payable Manager: An iconic retail brand is looking for an organised and personable Accounts Payable Manager to join their finance team. The accounts payable manager will be responsible for the full accounts payable process as well as leadership to one direct report. The accounts payable manager must be highly organised, able to cope under pressure, have good excel skills and efficient in multi tasking.


* Full ownership of multi site AP reporting process - High volume
* Perform regular supplier statement reconciliation
* Review of weekly payment run
* Participate in various audit (VAT/external/Internal)
* Play a key role in the month end closing process (post various accrual/prepayment journals) and reconciliation of various balance sheet accounts and investigation of old items (with AP and AR team) and recovery of debit balance.
* Monthly cash commentary for creditors
* Support multi site invoice processing and cover for team when on holiday
* Management of accounts assistant and ensuring they are working efficiently and to deadlines.
* Performance management of staff, including motivating, coaching and development and reviews and appraisals

Experience and Skills Required:

* Educated to university degree level or equivalent
* Advanced Excel user
* Solid accounts payable experience - proven track record of longevity
* High volume invoice confidence - 1000 per month minimum
* Manual invoice processing experience - good on excel
* Familiar with automated AP system like Concur is desirable
* Retail/ FMCG/ Consumer goods accounts payable experience is highly desirable
* Previous leadership or supervisory accounts payable experience and the desire to want to manage a small team
