Head of Boarding - Central London (Westminster) * URGENT *
RESIDENTIAL POSITION - up to GBP38,000 dependent on experience plus benefits

Our client, an independent boarding college situated in the heart of London are looking for an experienced Head of Boarding to lead a Houseparenting team responsible for providing a safe and caring boarding experience, which adds value to the students and prepares them to live independently with an enhanced sense of wellbeing and responsibility..

As Head of Boarding and part of the Senior Leadership Team, you will be responsible for effectively managing and providing support and direction to the Houseparenting team, which includes Houseparents, an Accommodation Officer and Boarding Assistants.

*** The role is residential and your accommodation will be a modern well equipped apartment, which is ideally suited for an individual or someone who is part of a couple.

Your duties will include :

-Providing a "gold standard" boarding provision and ensuring the highest standard of supervision, support efficiency and care for all boarding students.
-Actively participating in the duty rota covering houseparent duties, as required.
-Acting as Deputy Safeguarding Lead (DSL) subject to completion of safeguarding (Child Protection) Training at level 3 (multi agency working).
-Ensuring compliance of regulatory standards including H&S.
-Managing inductions plans for new boarders.
-Managing all aspects of boarding staff recruitment
-Chairing/minuting meetings with boarding staff and attending SLT meetings as required.

Experience;

-Experience dealing with international boarders
-Previously worked in a boarding school
-Experience managing teams
-Qualified to BSA Boarding Management certificate level
-Working knowledge of safeguarding, and training completed to level 1 minimum
-Working knowledge of PREVENT strategy
-Understanding of National Minimum Standards for Boarding

Desirable;

-Current First Aid certificate
-Mental Health First Aid trained
-Counselling experience
-Understanding of Home Office (UKVI) and college sponsorship duties
