Matthew Sullivan is currently recruiting for an R&D Laboratory Technician to join a specialist Medical Device organisation at their site in North Essex (Commutable from Essex, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire & Suffolk) on a full time, permanent basis.

The main purpose of the role will be to:
- Conduct laboratory based research under the direction of a project leader to achieve product development goals as outlined in companies strategic planning.
- Conduct formulation and polymerisation activities as directed by project lead.
- Conduct polymer characterization using a variety of techniques.
- Liaise with other departments as required to generate appropriate test samples.
- Collate experimental data and present in appropriate spreadsheets and written experimental reports, ensuring these are accurate and updated accordingly.
- Contribute to the daily housekeeping of the laboratories, including the monitoring and replenishment of stocks and supplies of chemicals and equipment.

In order to be considered for this role, you will be required to have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
- A BSc (or equivalent) in Chemistry, or a related subject.
- Knowledge in Polymerisation principles.
- Good understanding of Analytical Techniques, such as Gas and Liquid Chromatography.
- Knowledge of Quality Systems, and adherence to SOPs would be advantageous.
- Experience of working with polymers, conducting formulation, polymerisation or testing activities would be advantageous.

As an R&D Laboratory Technician you will be joining a specialist Medical Device organisation in an exciting new role, that in return offers a salary ranging from GBP20,000 - GBP22,000 per annum, coupled with excellent benefits.
