One of our clients, a very large commercial company based in Winchester is currently looking to recruit an Accountant on a 6 month contract

Main Duties:

•Prepare, analyse and distribute the monthly headcount reporting for group to support effective cost management. Drive process improvements in the approach to prepare the reports and the quality of the data, working with the People and Organisation team and the cost centre managers.
•Support the production of the periodic and annual regulatory accounts, driving process improvements and ensuring compliance to the internal processes.
•Manage and maintain the allocation methodology and data required for the regulatory business, P&L and balance sheet reporting in Oracle for cost of sales and opex for both the Terrestrial Broadcast and Corporate business units. Liaise with staff in these areas of the business in order to obtain up to date information for the purposes of maintaining the regulatory information.
•Ensure appropriate governance processes are in place surrounding this information. Assist with educating the business in the importance of maintaining accurate empirical data to assist with the production of the regulatory accounts
•Provide the link between various group reporting and cost allocation methodologies including group/BU reporting, regulatory reporting and product profitability reporting
•Provide support, as required, to other areas within the Group Finance team.
•Promote an effective Safety, Health and Environment culture, to ensure a safe and healthy working environment within area of operation

Required Qualifications/Skills

•Part qualified or qualified accountant
•Strong communication skills and able to work with the Business as well as colleagues in the Finance team. A strong team player
•Self-starter with a desire to drive process improvements
•Strong Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint skills in addition to Oracle Financials are desirable
•Experience of working in a commercial and preferably a regulated environment (e.g. utilities)
