Fuel Recruitment are exclusively representing a successful fast growing Logistics business who have established themselves as a market leader.

A newly created opportunity to join this exciting business is now available for a Financial Controller. This integral position will be responsible for the finance function and the ownership and responsibility of the company's day to day operational requirements.

This role will suit a qualified (ACCA/ACA/CIMA) commercially focused individual who has gained extensive finance exposure and integrated business experience. The successful individual will contribute towards furthering the growth of this multimillion pound company by providing timely and accurate management accounts and management information.

This is an opportunity for a driven and passionate individual who understands the importance of cash flow and cost saving management. Previous experience is essential including foreign currency and multi-site functions. Experience of setting up new accounting processes and procedures will also be an advantage.

Some of the main duties for this role include;

* Produce consolidated monthly results (P&L)
* Liaising with the operational controllers and the Head of Financial accounts
* Ensuring the reliability of the figures
* Ensuring compliance with financial legislation and reporting requirements
* Analyse and highlight the main discrepancies, ensuring that appropriate answers are provided by the relevant departments
* Review and consolidate the Budget and Forecasts (PA)
* Ensure the updating and the accuracy of the controlling corporate tools (SAP/CO and Essbase)
* Develop, control and report Key Performance Indicators in order to monitor company profitability and departmental performance

REPORTING OF RESULTS

* Monitors and supervises monthly reporting
* Supports operational units with closing processes
* Disseminates and communicates information
* Ensures all the requirements of the month-end timetable as defined by client are met both in terms of timing and accuracy

ANALYSIS AND VALIDATION

* Carries out multi activity studies
* Suggests solutions aimed at optimising management results in the short, medium and long term
* Ensures compliance with all necessary financial legislation and reporting requirements, highlighting omissions or errors directly to the Head of Finance

BUDGETING AND FORECASTING

* Monitors budget and forecasts
* Ensures budget is consistent and in line with corporate instructions
* Helps and advises management and operational teams in developing budgets, reporting statements and business plans

CONTROLLING AND COMPLIANCE

* Ensures rules, regulations, processes and procedures are respected in operational units (including establishing these rules and procedures where appropriate) to ensure all accounting entries are made in line with managing rules including authorisation levels
* Assisting with the implementation of accounting policies and procedures that will ensure UK and Group compliance including establishing correct accounting flows where required
* Ad-hoc projects
* Guarantees regular and honest accounts (reliability of financial statements)
* Ensures compliance with Group accounting standards and procedures
* Dealing with external auditors and internal colleagues including preparation of data and studies as required
* Work with other areas of the business to ensure compliance, accuracy and consistency

KPIS

* Designs and monitors activity tracking and forecasting tools (KPI's, charts, statistics etc).
* Support and advise at all levels to facilitate management decisions

COMPLIANCE WITH HEALTH AND SAFETY, QUALITY AND ENVIRONMENTAL REGULATIONS

* Applies and enforces Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental regulations.
* Takes responsibility for own safety, ensuring work is safe and hazard free
* Reports all accidents, near misses or hazardous situations to their superiors, however insignificant they may seem
* Work with Management to identity hazards and reduce risks, suggesting any improvement designed to preserve health and safety, quality and environment
* Contributes towards improving safety and work environment and safeguards oneself and others
* Provides positive health and safety leadership
* Ensures all staff within the area of responsibility, have received the required health and safety training to fulfil their role. Allocating adequate resources to enable timely health and safety training to take place
* Agrees specific health and safety objectives with teams, reviewing KPIs and health and safety performance regularly (H&S Meetings)
* Implements action plans and track progress as well as liaises with the health and safety team to ensure legal compliance
