Geography Teacher Needed For South West London School:

Excitement is in the air for this rapidly improving South West London School!

Geography Teaching position with regular trips to heritage sites, accompanying DofE students and a well-resourced and looked after humanities department!

If you are looking for a new and simultaneously challenging but rewarding Geography Teaching position within a warm and welcoming SW London School then this Humanities department will shift tectonic plates to have you!

•SECONDARY SCHOOL REQUIRES AN EXPERIENCED GEOGRAPHY TEACHER
•NEAR LOCAL AMENITIES AND PUBLIC TRANSPORT IS EASILY ACCESSIBLE
•EXCELLENT SECONDARY SCHOOL WITH GREAT RESOURCES AT THE GEOGRAPHY TEACHERS DISPOSAL
•HIGH QUALITY REFERENCES FROM GEOGRAPHY TEACHING ESSENTIAL
•PERMANENT CONTRACT FOR GEOGRAPHY TEACHER STARTING IN SEPTEMBER
•POTENTIAL FOR INTERNAL PROGRESSION FOR GEOGRAPHY TEACHER
•TLR PAYMENTS AVAILABLE AND MPS/UPS PAY SCALE - WITHIN INNER LONDON PAY SCALE
•A GREAT GEOGRAPHY TEACHING ROLE FOR A GREAT CANDIDATE!

This South West London School has recently undergone a change in leadership and there is an air of progression, development and future success circulating around the school. Though this school is not recognised by OFSTED as 'Outstanding', the school remains to be seen as Outstanding by the local community, parents, pupils and staff. The school takes in an above average amount of EAL and SEN children and the catchment area is amongst the lower socio-economic demographics, hence students often enter the school below the national attainment average. This is a challenge which is not suited for every teacher as it takes someone particularly special to face the circumstances here but the current body of loyal and long-serving staff will contest that the rewards outweigh the benefits 10:1

The role itself will be thoroughly enjoyable for the successful Geography Teacher, there is a superbly resourced humanities department and there are also regular domestic trips around the UK for the students. The school work as a close-knit unit to help achieve and deliver an appropriate and approachable curriculum for every student no matter the academic level. Due to the nature of the school it would be advantageous if the Geography Teacher had an inclination towards pastoral care responsibility. This would be of great benefit due to the schools 'no pupil left behind' policy, and really allows for rapid internal career progression development if it is sought after.

The ideal candidate will have the innate ability to connect to students on an academic but also emotional level. The chosen Geography Teacher will also need to devise and deliver their interpretation of the curriculum in an exciting, engaging and enlightening manner. The candidate will likely have good motivation themselves and will want to positively benefit the school, the staff, and of course the pupils.

If this opportunity seems like it is suitable for you then stop meandering about and send your CV in!
