Sellick Partnership are currently assisting in the recruitment of an Assistant Audit Manager to join a large Public Sector organisation based in North Yorkshire.

The purpose of the position is to support the Audit Manager in providing an effective Internal Audit function that complies with Public Sector Auditing Standards. Ensuring that assignments and delivered efficiently and to a high standard, the successful candidate will manage and lead the delivery of the allocated sections of the Audit work plan.


* Support in the delivery of a professional and effective audit function
* Work alongside the Audit Manager on operational aspects for the overall Audit team
* Responsible for the efficient delivery of the work plan in a timely manner and to a high standard
* Ensure corporate register arrangements support effective risk management
* Staff management of up to 4 direct reports - monitor and manage work assigned
* Identify and respond to directorate and corporate risks
* Produce clear and well written reports that set out findings and actions required
* Undertake investigations which could require evidence given in a court of law

Essential Experience:

* Strong management experience at operational level
* Experience in Public Sector Finance
* Strong experience in completing complex internal audits and investigations to a high standard with minimum supervision
* Exposure to performance improvements
* Experience of presenting reports and findings at management level
* Ability to develop policies
