Applicants applying for the Assistant Financial Accountant role MUST be ACCA part qualified papers F1 - F9 The main purpose of the Assistant Financial Accountant role is to provide accounting and administrative support to the Finance team with regards to the Property and Consumer lending divisions. Your duties as the Assistant Financial Accountant will include: Recording Loans - Property mortgages, Secured and Consumer lending. Carrying out the funding process relating to Property and Consumer lending businesses. Recording daily movements of the lending portfolio and the deposits business area. Processing and recoding daily deposit payments. Completing Bank Reconciliations. Carrying out month end tasks including accruals, deferred income and control account reconciliations. Accounting for commissions, clawbacks and interest income. Completing account reconciliations and making sure aged items are dealt with and provide reporting when required. Keeping up to date any changes in process by updating relevant process documents Liaise and maintain good relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. Being aware of risks and reporting them as and when they occur Responding to ad-hoc queries relating to Property and Consumer. Assisting with the Treasury function, ensuring daily tasks are completed and monthly reporting is completed. Maintaining an oversight of the risk reporting requirements for Finance and ensuring completion of the relevant internal reporting. Maintaining an awareness of the controls required by a Bank PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES OF THE ASSISTANT FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT Qualifications/Certification required for the Assistant Financial Accountant role Educated to A-Level or equivalent Currently studying towards a professional exam - ACCA, CIMA Experience required for the Assistant Financial Accountant role Experience of working within Financial Services - preferable but not essential Technical/Specialist Knowledge & Skills required for the Assistant Financial Accountant role Computer Literate: Good knowledge of MS Office suite - including Word, Access & Power-point Advanced knowledge of Excel including v lookups, pivot tables and macros Knowledge of TCF Knowledge of Summit, SUN and Q&A, advantageous but not essential. Excellent technical accounting knowledge Knowledge of IFRS Interpersonal skills required for the Assistant Financial Accountant role Adaptable & Flexible Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work as part of a team.
