Regulation is critical to the effective working of many markets, the protection of the environment, consumers and working people, but also provides significant constraints and administrative requirements on business. As the Director for Better Regulation Executive you will be key to setting direction for the Government’s overall better regulatory strategy covering: the Great Repeal Bill and necessary primary and secondary operability legislation; the negotiation of the UK’s exit from the EU; and, negotiation of the UK’s new strategic economic relationship with the EU.

To be considered for this role you will need to be a dynamic and motivated individual who enjoys operating in a challenging environment and be able to demonstrate a rigorous, analytical, capability to drive evidence-based policy making and delivery, coupled with the capacity to lead and manage a complex strategic regulatory reform agenda whilst building and maintaining credible relationships with very senior stakeholders; excellent leadership skills with strong personal impact and experienced at building high performing teams; highly developed communication, interpersonal and influencing skills, able to build trusting relationships at the most senior levels.

We also expect you demonstrate your ability to successfully lead and deliver large scale complexed change and management programmes that span multiple stakeholders and evidence of commercially minded with good business acumen and a strong focus on performance and financial management.

In return, you will enjoy an excellent rewards package which includes flexible working, childcare vouchers and Interest free season ticket and bicycle loans.
