Here at The Nottingham we are growing our Compliance Monitoring team. Reporting to the Senior Compliance Manager, the Compliance Monitoring Manager is responsible for developing, agreeing, implementing and maintaining The Nottingham's regulatory compliance monitoring processes and standards, setting and agreeing with the first line the schedule of, and then carrying out, the Regulatory and Conduct Risk monitoring reviews to provide assurance to key stakeholders of The Nottingham compliance with relevant regulatory requirements.

The key responsibilities of this role include -

* Design and maintenance of the compliance monitoring and thematic review plan.

Design and maintenance of regulatory and conduct risk monitoring plan to meet the requirements of SYSC 6.1.3, Agreeing the content and scope of the plan with the Senior Compliance Manager and Senior Risk Manager

* Scope, plan, agree and execute the reviews

Working with the first line, Senior Compliance Manager and Senior Risk Manager, agree the scope of any reviews and conduct the monitoring in a timely and professional manner. Draft and agree high quality monitoring reports. Agree any and all actions with the first line and document them clearly so that owners and timescales for remediation are fully understood.

* Document and track actions

Responsible for ensuring all actions from reviews are recorded and that a follow up process is in place to track resolution.

* Analysis and Reporting

Prepare high quality analysis, insight and reporting to verify that The Nottingham's key compliance risks are being managed within stated risk appetite. Identify trends or areas for management attention.

* Effectiveness reviews of third parties

Working with the Senior Risk Manager, recommend, agree, implement and conduct a monitoring plan to demonstrate the level to which third party outputs can be relied upon by The Nottingham.

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate -

* An in-depth understanding of the regulatory framework within which the Nottingham operates
* An in-depth understanding of the business processes across The Nottingham to ensure that all areas of regulatory risk can be identified and appropriately addressed.
* Good team working and influencing skills.
* Good understanding of financial services and Mortgage Sales and Advice and T&C frameworks and oversight.
* Good knowledge of the statutory and regulatory framework applicable.
* Knowledge and awareness of the requirements of the FCA and PRA rules and guidance, third party provider's products, product governance processes and outsourced service arrangements.
* Industry experience, preferably in a Compliance Monitoring/Technical role.
* Ability to manage and prioritise tasks, with the ability to work on own initiative with limited supervision.
* Analytical and methodical in approach.
* Decisive with an ability to exercise sound judgment on a consistent basis under pressure.
* Extensive experience of the introduction of new standards and processes for greater efficiency and best practice.
* Sense of urgency/energy applied to all work and a proactive approach to identifying issues or areas requiring remediation and identifying/communicating contingency plans.
* Excellent interpersonal skills (at all levels) including verbal and written communication.
* Ability to influence and persuade and able to create and maintain internal stakeholder partnerships.
* The jobholder should be educated to degree level or equivalent
