***Permanent position from September 2017
***Key Stage 3 / 4 & 5

For this post you should be a dynamic Science Teacher / NQT who has been graded as 'Good' or better by Ofsted in recent observations and an adaptable approach that allows you to quickly begin teaching to a high standard. The ideal individual should be able to merge a serious, purposeful teaching style with interesting enjoyable content to create a harmonious, successful learning space. We want to recruit a teacher who has the skills to affect the motivation of those around them for the better and stay positive and professional at all times. The school wants to see teachers who have high expectations of teaching standards and a down-to-earth but no nonsense attitude towards bad behaviour.

If appointed, you will quickly become an integral member of a friendly, supportive and high-achieving Science Department. For NQTs you will have the opportunity to teach across the full range with an outstanding induction programme provided and plenty of scope for personal development. The role involves you leading classes in KS3 and KS4 and, for suitably experienced candidates, teaching A-Level pupils. The department is exceptionally well equipped and resourced with all lessons taught in a suite of ten purpose built laboratories. At present, there are twelve Science Teachers who are supported by four dedicated technicians.

My client is a high-performing secondary school based within Birmingham. It is extremely well-connected to the community and, thanks to its excellent reputation and results, is a very popular destination for local pupils. As such, competition for places at this school is intense. The most recent Ofsted inspection saw the dedication of the teachers and hard-work of pupils pay off, and the school achieved 'Good' status.

This well supported secondary school provides an excellent induction programme and can provide the new starter with all the support they need to truly enjoy their new position.
