Job Purpose Summary
Our Children in Care Teams work with children and young people who are in care up to the age of 18. Children in Care Team's provide a high quality service to children who are unable to live at home and are placed with foster carers or live in residential homes. The work includes ensuring that all statutory requirements are met and include undertaking Care proceedings, supporting children who return home, developing permanency plans which include SGO and adoption plans. Teams are committed to high quality work and engagement with all children in care to maximise the potential of young people. They work with a range of agencies, including Health and Education to ensure that care plans are effective.

About our team
The Children in Care team works with all age children up to 18 years old when they are ready to transfer to Leaving and After Care. Our work consists of all statutory work relating to children looked after including court work and reunification work when children are ready to return to their parents. Our care plans can range from children in need plans to adoption. The caseloads range from 15 - 20 children as it can be sibling groups. We are a lively, motivated team with a lot of energy and commitment to children and families. The team supports each other very well and are very diverse in skill and knowledge base.
