SEN Teacher | Special School - SEBD | Halton

Are you experienced working with young people with SEN and passionate about supporting those with Social Emotional Behavioural Difficulties (SEBD)? As qualified Teacher can you utilise your understanding and positive attitude to engage students across a range of subjects.

This unique opportunity has arisen due to an increase of pupil referrals and is ideal for a behaviour specialist teacher. The role is to start after Easter on a part time basis (3 days a week) until Summer.

This SEN Teacher position will require you to deliver lessons across a range of subjects to small groups of Key stage 3 and Key stage 4 pupils in an engaging way. Strong behaviour management and a flexible approach are essential and experience working with SEBD is beneficial.

This small special school caters for students aged 8 to 18 with a range of needs including Social, Emotional, Behavioural Difficulties, those that are not able to access mainstream settings and children in care, some display challenging behaviour. Their main aim is to encourage all pupils to access a range of lessons and extra-curricular activities as well as improve a variety of abilities including independence, self-esteem and social skills.

To join the QT team and be successful in this SEN Teacher role you will need to have:
* QTS or equivalent qualification that allows you to teach in schools
* The ability to teach a variety of subjects
* A calm and flexible attitude when working with young people
* Experience working with students with SEN, specifically SEBD
* Effective behaviour management and de-escalation techniques
* The ability to build and develop positive relationships with both school staff and students
