We are currently looking for a two highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced Endoscopy Nurses to join a friendly and down to earth perioperative team at a reputable healthcare company based in Hampshire, this state of the art facility provides high quality specialist treatments in 9 specialties for the people of Hampshire, including Southampton and surrounding areas. We deal with many common health needs such as hip and knee replacements, hernia repairs, gall bladder surgery, gynaecological problems and cataracts. This centre only treats NHS patients and has an impressive track record in patient satisfaction, low infection rates and clinical success. Responsible for the assessment of care needs, the development of programmes of care and is accountable as a named nurse. Expected to deliver all aspects of nursing care, with supervision as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

* Maintain and monitor high standards of care by using a systematic approach to individualised care, by planning and delivering care around the model of nursing in the clinical area
* Record all care and planned care in the documented format utilised in the area
* Enure all documentation is completed, legible, signed and kept relevant and up to date
* Maintain knowledge base of equipment used within the unit (i.e. manual handling devices, cardiac arrest equipment etc) - Be responsible for maintaining safe custody, witnessing, recording and delivery of all medication to patients in accordance with the Treatment Centre's policy
* Attend relevant Ward and Clinical Governance meetings
* Be aware of the NMC Code of Conduct and work within its confines
* Perform duties with due regard to the Scope of Professional Practice and be willing to extend skills for the benefit of patient care
* Have a good understanding of the difference between local anaesthetic and sedation and to give appropriate advice accordingly
* Be able to give post procedure advice i.e. sedation and non-sedation
* Competent in giving explanations to patients undergoing endoscopy/gynae procedures
* Understand the risks of sedated patients whilst undergoing and recovering from a procedure.
* Be competent in setting up the endoscopy/gynaecology suites, ensuring relevant equipment is available

Skills & Experience:

* To be successful in this role you will have: Relevant experience as an Endoscopy RN.
* The ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care per individual needs
* NMC Registered Nurse Part 1 Theatre/ODA/ODP/ Endoscopy qualification
