Financial Controller - Bristol - Part time - GBP50K (pro rata)

The Company

A fast growing and dynamic bespoke Software company

Job Purpose

To be the financial lead for the company and to provide leadership to the business as well as strategic advice and management information to the Board to help the business grow. Initially a 2/3 days a week role that could develop into full time of the course of time.

Key Responsibilities:


- Define, in collaboration with the Board, the company's finance strategy in alignment with the overall growth strategy
- Define, develop and manage the company's annual budget as well as developing 3 and 5 year cash-flow forecasting and growth projections
- Analyse commercial and financial data and present findings
- Work with the Board to develop cross-team working and strategic direction
- Provide advice, experience and direction to the Board and Executive Team on all
financial matters


- People manage the Finance Team; namely setting objectives and goals as well as identifying areas for development
- Develop and manage financial processes and controls
- Be the decision maker for any budgetary-related purchasing and investments
- Identify and design processes to contribute to the efficiency and profitability of the Business

Corporate Governance

- Produce monthly management accounts and reporting
- Manage any and all statutory filing and taxation obligations
- Make the Board aware of any regulatory requirements that they must adhere to

Essential Experience

- At least 7 years PQE with some experience in the software industry
- ACA/ ACCA/ CIMA qualification(s)
- Clear understanding and skill in financial modelling and forecasting
- Experience raising different sources of income
- Experience managing a small finance team
- Excellent analytical and numeracy skills
- Excellent writing skills
- Ability to communicate with skill and emotional awareness
- Strong organisational skills and capable of planning and modelling complex pieces of work
- High level of computer literacy
