Assistant Financial Accountant

My client as established multinational organisation based in Woking require an experienced Assistant Financial Accountant to join their established, growing finance team. You will be responsible for all aspects of the management and financial reporting which supports the effective operation of the global organisation and in particular, the inter-company process. This role will be employed on a temporary basis initially, with a view to a permanent opportunity subject to performance and sign off.

Main Responsibilities & Duties as the Assistant Financial Accountant:

* Inter-company transaction processing and reconciliations
* Maintaining Fixed Asset Register
* Assisting with aspects of management and financial reporting
* Administration and monitoring of grant related income and expenditure
* Reconciliation of inter-company transactions and raising recharges across the organisation in accordance with inter-company policy
* Preparation and posting of journals to the general ledger
* Reconciliation of inter-company accounts and resolving differences
* Processing fixed asset additions and disposals in line with company policy
* Classification and reporting of assets under construction
* Processing depreciation charges and forecast for budget purposes
* Reconciliation's of asset / accumulated depreciation accounts
* Annual physical verification of fixed assets
* Assisting finance in completing management / financial reports for the monthuarter and year end accurately and on time
* Assisting in preparing consolidated management information;
* Assisting with external reporting
* Timely responding to auditor queries
* Assisting with improving and automating the management reporting processes
* Providing cover for other team members as required
* Assisting with general ledger analysis (SAP) and other data submissions and collation of variance commentaries from the Nos and Field Countries

Knowledge and skills required for the role of Assistant Financial Accountant:

* You will be currently studying towards a recognised accountancy qualification
* Good analytical skills and ability to interpret financial information
* Working knowledge of general ledger, reconciliation practices, fixed asset registers and inter-company process
* Working knowledge of SAP finance module (desirable)
* Strong ERP system skills (SAP desirable) with preferably knowledge of reporting databases and intermediate / advanced Microsoft Excel skills;
* Strong analytical skills and ability to go through large amounts of data quickly;
* An ability to use general ledger packages eg SAP general ledger package;
* Ability to communicate well to individuals with different levels of financial understanding;
* Excellent attention to detail;
* Ability to multi task, prioritise workload, work on own initiative and deliver on time;
