Fantastic Opportunity for a Senior Planning Manager (minimum of 7 years exp) to join our prestigious MoD nuclear client in Berkshire. This is a permanet role, paying upto GBP68.000.00 plus a generous holiday and work place pension. (Relocation Package available too)

Objective:
To provide subject matter expertise for Project Controls Planning within our clients programme portfolio by providing planning management and establishing well-disciplined planning practices across the buiness.

Role Overview
Key Accountabilities
* Implementing of Project Planning tools, templates and training
* Promoting Planning processes, policies and procedures throughout Area of Responsibility
* Provide Programme Planning expertise in Earned Value Management (EVM) for the analysis of projects in the Area of Responsibility
* Providing leadership on long range operational integrated Programme Planning activities
* Support the Head of Programme Controls Planning with emergent projects as directed by Head of Planning
* Managing and developing direct reports within the Area of Responsibility in accordance with company policies, processes and guidelines
* Managing the capacity and effective deployment of direct reports in Planning within their Area of Responsibility
* Developing and maintaining relationships with and awareness of key programme stakeholders
* Leadership - Mid-Level Leader
* Maintain and promote high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security and quality and be a great team player

Key Responsibilities
* The quality of EV variance analysis for schedule performance (SPI)
* Supporting the development and continuous improvement of the end-to-end Planning processes and the production and maintenance of associated policies, procedures and guidelines
* Reviewing project WBS and agreeing / recommending changes to the Project's Control Manager
* Supporting the Head of Planning in providing recommendations on complex / judgemental Planning issues
* Undertaking other duties as reasonably required from time to time by line and task management
* The provision of Planning resource for peer reviews as appropriate
* Identification of training and development requirements for employees within the management hierarchy requirements

Qualifications/Skills
(Essential)
* Degree in appropriate business or technical discipline, or a proven level of experience
* Proven experience driving cross-functional communications on schedule interdependencies between project teams
* Proven Planning and Scheduling expertise
* Critical Path Methodology - Mastery
* Demonstrated Earned Value Management System (EVMS) implementation experience
* Programme Summary Master Schedule (PSMS), IMS, Supplemental schedule and IMP integration experience
* Schedule Health and Performance Metrics knowledgeable
* Understanding of Proposal, Design, Manufacturing, and Sustainment lifecycle phases of a Program
* Demonstrated knowledge of subcontractor & government furnished equipment integration with a Prime Contractor's
IMS
* Schedule Risk Assessment (SRA) and Probabilistic Risk Analysis (PRA) experience with Risk mitigation integration into the IMS
* Strong presentation skills, ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the program organization

* Project Management qualification (e.g. APMP)
* Working towards membership of relevant professional body (e.g. APM, PMI)
* Full Spectrum Leadership experience
* Primavera P6 experience
* Schedule Analytics experience
* Microsoft Project experience
* EVMS Implementation experience
* Understanding of Change Scheduling Management
Experience
* Project Planning on programs with output products
* Earned Value Management
Further requirements
* Willing and able to obtain and maintain the security clearance required for the role
