Mortgage Assessor

Responsible for processing and administration of loan applications received from initial acceptance to the checking of the realise of the advance cheque.

Job Description

• Assess loan applications to ensure the documents are completed
• Appraise applications received and submit recommendations for checks
• Acknowledge application to applicant and intermediary, as appropriate
• Issue and check the adequacy and authenticity of reference enquiries
• Input and on-going maintenance of all applications received
• Produce loan offers in compliance with the procedures
• Despatch mortgage offers and solicitors Instructions, if applicable, following approval
• Respond to customer, intermediary or Solicitor enquiries by letter or telephone
• Conduct checks of Certificates of Title
• Arrange the preparation and timely despatch of loan proceeds
• Conduct all related administrative tasks relating to the loans underwriting process
• Produce completion details relating to each case at completion

Person Specification

• Educated to GCSE level (at least 5 A - C grades including B in English and Maths).
• Previous experience of mortgage/loans processing is essential
• Previous administration and customer contact experience is essential
• Excellent keyboard and IT literacy
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Confident, clear and professional telephone manner
• Perform well under pressure and work to strict deadlines
• Willing to undertake professional qualification if the need arose

• Up to GBP26,000 - GBP27,000 depending on experience
• Mon - Fri, 9am - 5:30pm
