Job Title: Deputy Nursing Home Manager
Location: Cranleigh, Surrey
Hours: Permanent, 40 hours a week
Salary: GBP35,000

A 75 bedded, purpose-built care home for the elderly offering residential, nursing and dementia care.

The Role:
Reporting to the Home Manager, the successful candidate will help to support with the leading and managing a dedicated team of staff, contributing towards the continuous high quality of care given to the residents. The successful candidate will also take charge of the home in the absence of the Manager.

The Deputy manager must ensure that all nursing, care staff and domestic staff contribute to the best of their ability to the efficient operation of the home

Key Duties:

* Provide leadership and supervision of care
* To build a rapport with outside agencies and relatives
* Take an active role in staff meetings, appraisals, disciplinary and in staff training
* Ensure policies and procedures are carried out
* To perform such duties as may be reasonable required as directed by the management of the home
* Ensure daily rota is planned and ensure an adequate skill mix is available
* Maintain log books and records as may be required by the company or CQC
* Complete medication audits and deal effectively with poor performance
* Interview staff and conduct staff supervision and training
* Formulate social health care plans for residents review care plans on a monthly basis
* Meet on a monthly basis with care staff and minute meetings

* Previous nursing home experience
* Leadership and management skills
* Self-motivated

* Have good communication and organisational skills
