Audit Senior/Supervisor with Academy experience

I have an excellent opportunity working for a Top 50 firm of Accountants based throughout the Northwest. You will be based at their head office in Preston. I am recruiting for an Audit Senior/Supervisor with Academy experience.
My client is an award winning professional services firm with an excellent reputation for training staff in a friendly and welcoming environment.
Supporting our Corporate Services team in Preston to deliver a quality service to a portfolio of clients, including academies and charities. The key responsibilities of the role will include:

• Taking responsibility for planning, field work and completion of statutory audits for a mixed portfolio of academies, charities and commercial entities
• Preparing individual and group statutory accounts under UK GAAP, including FRS102
• Supervising audit teams on site to ensure assignments are completed on time and within budget
• Preparation of corporation tax computations
• Monitoring of WIP and billing
• Preparing draft reports and other documentations for presentation to clients
My client is seeking a candidate who is committed to providing outstanding client service, whilst concurrently taking responsibility for their own personal development. The successful candidate will also be able to communicate with clients and colleagues in a professional manner, and be a good team player, to ensure the team as a whole meets its objectives.

Ideal candidate will:
• Be ACA qualified
• Have a sound knowledge and experience of auditing standards and experience of a wide range of audit clients, including academies
• Have experience of preparation of accounts for academies, charities and commercial entities
• Have experience of managing audit teams
• Have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, and to tailor communication appropriately
• Have a strong commercial awareness
Strong IT skills are essential in this role, with candidates ideally being competent in all Microsoft packages as well as accounts production, audit and corporation tax software, Sage Line 50 and preferably some experience of cloud based accounting software.
