Account Manager - Government


GBP50,000 + 25% Bonus

I am actively assisting a globally recognised organisation who specialise in supplying communications systems across the Aviation, Defence, Government and Maritime industries. My client is actively seeking an Account Manager for its Global Government division. The Account Manager will have a wide range of responsibilities with the primary responsibility being to maintain and expand the relationships with a number of assigned channel partners and to ensure that each partner executes its pipeline of opportunities in a timely fashion.

Key Responsibilities for the Account Manager - Government:

* The Account Manager will Support the account management team across all partners to ensure a level of consistency for each company in the way that they interface with Inmarsat and the way we manage them internally, to include incentivisation, training and reporting.
* The Account Manager will manage a number of individual accounts by building and maintaining strong business relationships at all levels of the partner organisation. Clarify, challenge and contribute to each partners' thinking, helping them express their needs clearly.
* The Account Manager will Be accountable within Inmarsat for assigned partners' government performance and achievement of targets for profitable sales volume and strategic objectives
* The Account Manager will proactively assist the assigned accounts to identify, pursue and close business, meeting assigned revenue expectations (maintaining and converting a sales pipeline by leveraging opportunities for sales growth within existing customers).
* The Account Manager will lead a collaborative partner business planning and strategic sales process that develops joint performance objectives, financial targets, and critical milestones associated with a productive partner relationship.
* The Account Manager will Manage potential conflict with other sales channels by fostering excellent communication internally and externally (across all Business Units), and through strict adherence to channel rules of engagement.

Essential Knowledge and Skills - The Account Manager will - Government:

* 2-5 years' experience of account management preferably in a complex or technical sales environment
* Proven performer with a demonstrable track record of solutions-focused sales.
* Management of significant revenue targets and accounts in an indirect sales environment.
* Strong relationship management skills, able to drive partner behaviour and develop sales enablement tools and training with partner sales teams
* Entrepreneurial spirit with a strong self-starter approach.
* Ability to take partner/end customer requirements and match them to existing Inmarsat product and service benefits.
* Inherently persuasive communicator in written and spoken word
* Effective management of time and effort of self and others involved in development of a customer account.
* Expert knowledge of (url removed) or similar CRM system.
* Fluency in written and spoken business English
* Experience of working with defence primes or complex technology providers.
* Experience of working overseas or with non-UK companies and customers
* Experience in telecommunications.
* Experience with high-level customer negotiations and internal stakeholder management.
* Fluency in additional languages.
