MANE Contract Services is an award winning international recruitment business based in Watford, looking for a Senior Payroll Assistant to join its expanding Administration and Finance division.
Salary circa GBP25,000 per annum depending on experience, plus a great benefits package.
The successful individual will have at least 2 years' experience working in Payroll, a keen eye for detail, accurate data entry skills, and be a good communicator. Experience of Tempest is desirable but not essential.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1.Liaise with the payroll assistants regularly to help achieve all tasks as per the daily/weekly/monthly task list to meet the payroll deadlines. Carry out these functions yourself if needed.
2.Provide cover for the payroll administrators during absence due to breaks, sickness or holiday.
3. Check and approve timesheets or backdated payments processed for wages, VAT, adhoc payments or deductions and provide guidance and training to payroll administrators when they have made an error to prevent it happening in the future.
4.Support payroll administrators in resolving day to day queries in an efficient manner.
5.Work closely with the Payroll Manager with software updates, testing, year end, adhoc tasks and training and developing less experienced team members.
6.Assist with more complex payroll related queries such backdated corrections, invoices returned from clients due to incorrect charges or purchase orders being incorrect.
7. Communicate and share knowledge with team members to contribute to the effectiveness of the team and be involved in improving systems within the department.
8.Ensure the payroll assistants use the Payroll Process Manuals for every task to ensure task is done correctly and help maintain the manual when changes occur.

Knowledge and Skills Required:-
1. Minimum 2 years' experience with weekly payroll in a senior capacity.

6. Adherence to the Information Security, Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality System
