R13 recruitment are working alongside a National training provider in their search for a part time GCSE English Tutor. Reporting to the Senior Business Manager, core duties will be to create, plan and deliver motivating English and Functional Skills learning programmes to young people in and around the local community. You will teach English and Functional Skills up to GCSE level to learners between the ages of 14 - 19. This role is based between centres in Norwich and Lowestoft.

Duties to include:
* Creating and planning English and Functional Skills learning programmes (up to level 2 or GCSE) using all relevant resources including schemes of work and support plans.
* Engaging with a range of learners, assuring lessons are appropriate and interesting.
* Utilising creativity to apply real life situations to functional skills students' syllabus.
* Delivering sessions to mixed abilities groups, ensuring learning styles are catered for and all students remain engaged.
* Tracking and monitoring learner progress, ensuring all students are being supported effectively in all areas of the programme.
* Delivering 121 sessions with students as required, which may include offsite working.
* Assisting in the arrangement of both internal and external examinations and course work.
* Attending and contributing to centre standardisation meetings.
* Liaising with line manager to discuss any issues related to learning, teaching or assessments.
* Undertaking independent research to ensure you keep up to date with developments.
* Providing pastoral and tutorial support to assist learners with progress and achievements.
* Undertaking regular teaching reviews as requested.

You will have/be:
* PGCE/Certificate in Education OR Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training.
* Experience of teaching GCSE English and Functional Skills to young people between the ages of 14 - 19.
* Experience of working with individuals with behaviour management needs / barriers to learning.
* Confident communicator at all levels, able to adapt style / technique accordingly to audience.
* Strong ICT skills including all Microsoft Packages and have experience of using eiLPs.
* Confidence in working independently, but able to contribute to wider team objectives.
* Excellent time management skills, effectively managing time to deliver required standards.
* Capability to effectively manage conflict and maintain high standards of classroom behaviour.
* Creativity, keenness to adapt learning materials / lesson plans.

This is a part time permanent opportunity working 2.5 days per week. Offered salary of up to GBP24,000 pro rata DOE.
