COMMISSIONING EDITOR

Our client is a well-established business with a fantastic reputation within their niche area of communications. The business is innovative and dynamic and they are looking to recruit an accomplished Production Editor to join their content team.

The role of Production Editor is important to the business and has many different parts to the role. The role will be responsible for commissioning and delivering content within a portfolio of online medical revision products. The role will also monitor customer needs and look at ways of updating and tailoring the content to meet these needs. You will also manage a team of 4 Production Coordinators. Some of the key duties will be:
• Commissioning content for the portfolio of products and sourcing the most appropriate writers and industry experts. Extensive liaison with the writers and experts on a regular basis
• Agree the content to be written including the quality, cost and timescales. Manage content delivery against these measures
• Oversee production of video and other media
• Manage quality control procedures to ensure products are fit for purpose
• Develop strong links via networking and attending meetings such as Focus groups
• Liaise with the Sales & Marketing team on a regular basis
• Liaise on a regular basis with clients to ensure the online content meets expectations
• Responsible for gaining customer feedback and identify areas for product improvement
• Effectively manage the team of 4 Production Coordinators

So???.the role of Production Editor is very diverse and we need a candidate with a diverse set of skills! The perfect candidate will be degree educated, have proven experience in both managing production schedules, managing a team and with editorial skills. An ability to work with data and statistics is also fairly important and there may be some UK travel. Basic knowledge of XML and HTML would be an advantage.
