An exciting position for a Veterinary Surgeon has arisen for my client, a large global FMCG organisation based in Waltham on the Wolds, Leicestershire for a short term contract. We are looking for a veterinarian with experience in routine surgeries and preventative/curative medicine in dogs and cats. You must enjoy working in a multi-discipline team, have a positive and constructive approach to conflict and thrive in a fast-paced working environment. This is an excellent opportunity to grow and develop within a highly renowned and unique business. This role starts in September 2017 via Adecco and will be 30 hours per week. The pay rate will be based on experience but very competitive. This role would suit someone who is self employed and can plan for a new role ahead of time. Due to the location of the role, you must have your own transportation.

The purpose of this role is to provide preventative and routine health care tour clients cat and dog population. The ultimate goal is to ensure the pets have excellent health and welfare and able to participate in our clients research plans.

Co-ordination, delivery and responsibility of vet rounds, operations and care of animals
Delivery of healthcare programmes.
Management of animals subject to veterinary quarantine.
Management of veterinary facilities.
Co-ordination of radiation safety ensuring compliance with relevant legislative requirements to company personnel.
Act as a source of support and advice to company personnel with regards to the fulfilment of animal healthcare delivery

Routine and non-routine veterinary rounds and surgery
Liaison with research team to minimise impact of veterinary treatments on research trials
Liaison with research team to ensure a healthy population
Training of appropriate personnel in veterinary procedures
Ensure that all aspects of the role are fulfilled and that any issues are resolved as appropriate
Work closely with a multi-discipline team to ensure the co-ordination and delivery of all company healthcare programmes.

Member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons
Proven experience in animal veterinary practice
Proven surgical experience
Proven skills on internal medicine, dermatology, orthopaedics
Proven experience working in a varied team
Knowledge and experience of companion animal behaviour and welfare desirable
