A growing medcomms agency is looking for their next home-based senior medical writer to join their growing team. My client prides themselves on a direct and straight forward approach to their management style - candidates can look forward to an engaging home based role with a focus on providing high quality scientific output with reasonable deadlines and periodic on-site visits with clients.

All candidates must be resident in the United Kingdom for tax purposes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

For all allocated projects/account:

* Understand the client's strategic objectives relating to the product(s), plus the objectives for all account-related projects
* Ensure understanding of brief from client and what's required to achieve the desired outcomes
* Develop/further develop scientific expertise and knowledge in relevant therapy areas, including, but not limited to:

* Landscape/market
* Product and competitors':

* Data/data sets
* Messages

* Utilise expertise and knowledge to deliver projects' desired outcomes
* Generate science-based content for review by the relevant AD/Director. Examples include, but are not limited to:

* Agendas
* Manuscripts, posters, abstracts, slide sets, review papers
* Publication plans
* Strategic communication plans
* Product and/or disease messages
* Science-based content for meeting related materials
* Science-based content for digital outputs

* Develop effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and provide scientific support to them in order to successfully deliver projects
* Ensure the quality of all science-based materials matches h:c's standards
* Ensure all work is edited and proof-read for accuracy, consistency and style before it is sent to the client
* Sense-check materials generated by freelancers and, on request, ADs/Directors
* Take responsibility for the quality of science-based content of final deliverables provided to client
* Further develop expertise in scientific and medical writing, e.g. keeping abreast of developments in good publication practice
* Recognise potential barriers to successful delivery of science-based materials, proactively identify possible solutions and flag to AD/Director

REQUIREMENTS:

* 3-5 years experience as a medical writer (in either the regulatory or med comms space)
* A confident self-starter, comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
* Wide range of experience across medical education and marketing focussed medical communications
* Preferred, but not essential: experience or interest in

* Training materials

* Happy to work across multiple accounts
* Willing to travel occasionally to meetings and conferences
* Strong skills in Word and PowerPoint
