We are looking for a Lead Tutor to work for a company who specialise in Skills, Training and education. This role will be based in Newport & Chepstow.

Role Summary:
The Lead Tutor carries the full range of teaching responsibilities and is required to demonstrate an extensive range of knowledge, understanding and application of curriculum development and curriculum development strategies. The Lead Tutor will be involved in the leadership of others in a range of activities.

Key Responsibilities/Main Tasks:
* Plan teaching and learning to improve outcomes for all learners, and manage implementation ensuring learning is delivered in line with curriculum and programme requirements.
* Lead by example to ensure the learner journey is positive, including front line delivery as required.
* Ensure professionalism to include daily checks on the learning environment, session preparation, ensuring staff and learners are effectively engaged in learning.
* Ensure observations of all key learner processes at the Centre including observation of teaching and learning, learner interviews, reviews, etc., analyse findings to inform staff training and development/CPD or performance management to improve the 'learning experience' for all our learners.
* Set targets for learner participation, retention, achievement and progression.
* Monitor performance according to agreed standards and targets and take necessary action to support and resolve according to performance levels.
* Effectively analyse Management Information data and action for continuous quality improvement.
* Observe teaching and learning and advise Tutors on the learning environment, session planning and teaching methods, provide coaching and mentoring as required.
* Day to day of contractual compliance including all documentation relating to the programmes, ensuring the quality content, accuracy, validity and timely completion of learner start/leaver documents, Individual Learning Plans and passports, activity plans and progress reviews, attendance records and relevant and up-to-date placement health and safety documentation.
* Curriculum development working closely with the Advanced Internal Verifier and Advanced Training Practitioner - Skills for Life together.
* Communicate centre, divisional and national priorities and performance to staff on a regular basis to ensure clarity and consistency of direction.
* Promote, implement and deliver our Equality and Diversity strategy.
* Inspire, encourage, empower and promote innovation and share best practice with team and individuals.
* Provide effective leadership, recruit, select, induct and maintain staff.
* Working with the Centre Manager, develop a local employer engagement strategy to ensure high quality learning opportunities for all our learners, ensuring that placements meet health and safety requirements.
* Ensure efficient and effective deployment of staff resources, including session and resource preparation, evaluation and marking time and contingency arrangements to ensure curriculum requirements are met.
* Develop and promote e-learning, use of ICT to the benefit of the learners.

Experience Required -
QTLS status, DTTLS or equivalent.
Strong organisational skills, the ability to prioritise workload.
Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
Monitors, evaluates and challenges performance of staff.
Coaches, supports and develops people and encourages the use of own initiative.
