Legal Counsel: An experienced Legal Counsel is required in-house to assist with all contracts, including quality and commercial contracts, as well as public procurement frameworks. The Legal Counsel will be the integral link within all departments and external counsel, to ensure there are accurate and compliant contracts in place to comply to relevant regulatory and legal requirements and manage risk.

As part of a 22.5 hour working week, this new in-house role is ideally suited to a partner within a Magic Circle law firm that is now seeking a more rewarding role and a balanced lifestyle without working insane hours!

The Legal Counsel will strengthen commercial processes and increase contract awareness across the business for this successful, fast growing FMCG company specialising in manufacturing and distributing unique, quality products within the healthcare industry.


*Draft, evaluate, negotiate and execute all contracts, not limited to, non-disclosure agreements, sales and purchasing agreements, consulting agreements, licencing agreements, public procurement framework agreements, distribution agreements and quality agreements
*Serve as the main point of contact within the organisation on contractual matters
*Provide recommendations on all contracts and negotiate directly when necessary until consensus is achieved, negotiating with other parties and attorneys where necessary
*Maintain contractual records and documentation
*Provide guidance to all staff on contractual matters
*Develop and implement procedures for contract management and administration
*Ensure signed contracts are communicated to all relevant parties to provide contract visibility and awareness
*Assist with coordination of insurance cover

Skills and Experience:

*Magic Circle law firm partner experience
*LLB qualification
*Strong understanding of contracts law and standard terms
*Exceptional drafting skills
*Excellent communication, teamwork and negotiation skills
*Good attention to detail
*Ability to assess commercial and legal risks
*Minimum five years' experience as a lawyer in a commercial/corporate environment
*Previous experience of effective performance management of contracts in a complex environment
*Experience with drafting commercial contracts
