Natalie Wood is recruiting for a Technical Manager to join a textile and fabric manufacturing company in their coatings division based in Greater Manchester, on a full time, permanent basis.

Hours of work will be 7.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday. The company offers 33 days' holiday inclusive of statutory holidays, some of which are to be reserved for Christmas shutdown. Salary will be disclosed on discussion and benefits include pension, life insurance, private medical, income protection, subsidised canteen and free car parking.

As the Technical Manager your responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring and reporting on fabric quality against agreed specifications.
- KPI's against incoming fabrics for production to be detailed and quality performance to be fed back to suppliers and the General Manager.
- Ensuring fault reporting is detailed and reviewed against running performance of the finished product to ensure suitability.
- Utilising greige and finished fault record data to ascertain where fabric quality improvements can be made but also identify any fault trends that could be detailed and communicated to both suppliers and production.
- Maintaining non conformance system and communicating issues quickly to all relevant people and suppliers.
- Ensuring all technical and machine operational specifications are detailed from development through to final product.
- Monitoring fabric performance against defined KPI's.
- Reporting on customer returns.
- Quality audits of finished goods.

As a Technical Manager, you will have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
- A strong background in the manufacturing processes of woven fabric.
- Experience and evidence of product or process improvement.
- A strong approach to problem solving utilising both extensive processing knowledge and performance data to ensure a logical approach to decision making.
- Good communication skills.
- High level of experience in product development.
- Ability to assist with the production managers in improving current inspection performance.
- Evidence of good reporting and interaction with the production departments.
- Proven experience of managing suppliers and incoming fabric for processing.
