DevOps Engineer *DREAM JOB*

Location: London

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: Permanent

Rate: GBP60k - GBP95k (Will potentially pay more for exceptional candidates)

This really is a dream job for any good DevOps Engineers based in London. Working for a wealthy and rapidly expanding company (think of the likes of Google, Cisco, Microsoft etc.), employee benefits include share options in this great company, outstanding offices worldwide, luxury travel/accommodation and free restaurant quality food, drink and expenses on a daily basis, plus many more. As a DevOps engineer, you will be joining a team of enthusiastic engineers set out to build tools and applications to keep the company running smoothly, reliably, and efficiently. You will do everything from running the development pipelines to deploying self-service container schedulers for various company workloads. On any given day, you could be improving the stability and scalability of systems, driving adoption of best practices, and developing new solutions to new problems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop the system management tool offerings by using an agile, iterative method, and get feedback directly from users to create the best working environment in the industry.
  • Research, evaluate, develop, and deploy new tools to improve user efficiency. This includes tools that make deploying code easy for devs, as well as tools that make it easy for users to build their own virtual machines, making your solutions the most compelling to use.
  • Deploy highly available, scalable, maintainable, monitored systems and services using infrastructure-as-code frameworks.
  • Lead the adoption of tooling and industry best practices by means of advocacy and outreach to help our development teams level up.
  • Use Bash, Go, Python, Java, or whatever tools are at your disposal to automate life cycle management: deployment, information security posture, maintenance, and inventory.

Experience Required:

  • B.S./M.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Math, Physics, or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years' experience working in Developer Operations.
  • Experience working with AWS or another cloud provider.
  • Experience with managing and developing on highly-available and distributed software.
  • Proficiency in a language such as Java, Python, or Go.
  • Ability to continuously learn, work independently, and make decisions with minimal supervision.
  • Exposure to infrastructure-as-code frameworks like Terraform and Cloudformation and modern web frameworks like React.
