Head of Compliance

Reporting into the Managing Director, the job holder will be responsible for the development and implementation of strategy, the management and leadership of compliance and internal control arrangements that facilitate the company's compliance with regulations, whilst maximising business efficiency.

Job Description:
Provide Senior Management with briefings on the impact of regulatory developments
Assist the business in interpreting and responding to new regulatory proposals and emerging regulatory risks
Provide leadership and direction to all departments on implementation and embedding relevant compliance policy and standards
Represent the company on industry or regulatory forums to discuss developments and gain insight to inform of the company's activity
Oversee the communication and advice guidelines produced, in support of all customer facing roles
Develop advice strategies, standards and guidelines to ensure new products are brought to market compliantly and successfully
Undertake continuous regulatory benchmarking to ensure advice policies and processes are not restricting ability to achieve competitor advantage
Develop and agree 'quality standards' for all departments and delivery channels ensuring the end to end advice risks are identified and owned
Ensure fair treatment of customers is defined and embedded throughout the business
Take ownership and leadership for building strategic relationships with relevant regulatory bodies and key external stakeholders
Key contact by managing the FCA relationship team for all compliance issues
Compliance lead and key contact on third party supply contracts
Create and manage the Compliance Review Dashboard and Compliance Monitoring Plan
Take overall responsibility for ensuring that there is appropriate technical expertise
Provide a centre of excellence for technical guidance and policy interpretation
Accountable for managing the function within budget

Person Specification:
Significant risk and compliance experience - well versed in the area of financial services operations
Strong commercial awareness and an ability to produce technical and policy output
Strong communicator / influencer evidence of effective management of stakeholders up to Board Level
Demonstrate experience in providing solutions to regulatory issues and taking ownership of resolution
People management - experience in leading and developing individuals
Understanding of risk controls, processes, measures and related MI/reporting
Ideally worked within motor related financial services or as a minimum worked within a related services sector
Able to produce sound working documentation and presentations, including business case proposals and requirements, briefs and presentations
Preferably worked within a Legal sector and/or has a strong legal awareness and knowledge
Appreciation of legal, regulatory and compliance issues relating to the use of customer data and is familiar with the principles captured within 'treating customers fairly' and conduct risk

Additional Information:
Based in Reigate
Circa GBP65,000 plus performance based quarterly bonus
