An Electron Microscopy Field Service Engineer with a focus around SEM, TEM and EDS / EDAX / EDX metrology equipment is sought by a leading developer of high technology industry analytical equipment.

Working on Scanning Electron Microscopes, Transmission Electron Microscopes and Energy Dispersive X-Ray Spectroscopy analytical instrumentation you will support clients in the UK, EU and potentially further afield, to undertake Installation, Repair and User Training for equipment utilised in various elemental analysis applications including Semiconductors, Nanotechnology, Biotechnology and Novel Materials development. To be successful in this role you will have hands-on practical experience in the repair and installation of technologies specific to scientific instruments inclusive of High Vacuum Systems, Electron Optics and X-Ray Imaging / Spectroscopy. More general repair and installation skills are also sought as you will also be undertaking Fault-Finding to component level for Electronic Systems, maintaining Ultra High Vacuum Systems and handling/positioning Fine Mechanics.

BSc/MSc in Electronics or Physics with 1 year+ experience in the repair and installation of SEM, TEM or EDS / EDX scientific metrology equipment across the full breath of engineering technologies utilised from UHV vacuum technology to Electronics based fault-finding and Electron Optics. You will find travel an appealing prospect as this will be a significant element of the role, including on an international basis and thus someone who is able to manage their time well, work on their own initiative and an excellent communicator. Training will be provided to candidates who have a strong skill set, but nit necessarily the full set.
