Mechanical Engineering Lecturer
West Midlands
GBP24,241 - GBP33,515 p/a
Permanent, full-time

We are working with an education provider in the West Midlands area who are looking for a Mechanical Engineering Lecturer to join their team on a permanent, full-time basis.

The successful candidate will be asked to join the education provider's Engineering team, and will help them to teach learners on their Mechanical Engineering courses (up to level 3). The position is a full-time, permanent role of 37 hours per week, with most of the delivery taking place at the education provider's main site. However, they will occasionally require you to travel to one of their other sites (your mileage allowance would cover this business travel).

You will be expected to oversee training for learners predominately undertaking BTEC Diplomas and EAL NVQs (at levels 1-3). The teaching would be split between practical engineering activities in the machine workshop (which will be focused around activities such as Milling, Turning, and Bench Fitting), and classroom-based teaching on their BTEC programme (consisting of things like Secondary Finishing Techniques, Marking Out, and Engineering Principles).

The starting salary for this position is between GBP24,241 and GBP33,515 per annum (depending on qualifications and experience). The package would also include a final salary pension, business mileage expenses, and 53 days paid holiday (including Bank Holidays and 5 discretionary closure days).

To be eligible for the position, you MUST have:
-A level 3 engineering qualification
-Industrial experience of milling/turning/fitting
-A teaching qualification OR assessor award

If you have previous teaching experience but no teaching qualification, they may be able to put you through a teaching qualification on the job within the first two years of taking the role.

I am looking to set up interviews as soon as possible, so if you are interested and available for interview, please reply with your CV and daytime contact number and I'll get back to you, or you can always call me on (Apply online only).

Please feel free to pass on my details if you know someone who might be interested.
