Senior Risk Analyst - Internal Model Governance

Role Purpose:

To support the successful execution of the internal model across QBE EO including the successful delivery of internal model governance processes.

General Duties:

  • Support, and where appropriate lead elements of the development and management of internal model governance systems and procedures (including model validation, change and use, expert judgement and capital adjustments);

  • Coordinate validation process/activities with the Head of Model Validation;

  • Perform or assist in the performance of the ERM owned independent validation on behalf of the Risk Manager - Internal Model Governance and/or the CRO;

  • Support the development and management of the PRA Self-Assessment Template (SAT) and Lloyd's Minimum Standards processes for QBE EO;

  • Challenge and validate outcomes of internal model governance processes, adopting a second line' role;

  • Facilitate the Emerging Risk process across QBE EO;

  • Prepare board and committee packs; and

  • Provide input to the Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA) in relation to processes owned.

Essential Requirements:

  • Good general experience in insurance industry involving data/analysis/systems/project, ideally including working knowledge of insurance risk management processes and/or risk/internal model governance processes

  • Conversant with internal model processes, language and tools/systems

  • Understanding of relevant regulatory requirements is preferred

  • Degree calibre, and professional qualification or equivalent level (IRM/ACII) is preferred

  • Strong organisational skills

  • Good engagement and relationship management
