As a Policy Adviser in the Policy and Public Affairs Team you will play a key role in enabling the RCN to influence the development of health and care policy on behalf of nurses and nursing.
It's a job full of possibilities, and you could be involved in a wide range of activities from writing briefings for senior staff, to working with communication colleagues in the development of RCN campaigns. It's a great way to develop your knowledge of health and care policy, and to further your potential.
As a Policy Advisor you will scope issues, generate evidence and identify solutions across a wide range of policy areas, playing a critical role in the development of the RCN's policy and campaigning work.
You will undertake long term policy project work to shape nursing policy and practice, as well as generating quick response work to deal with emerging and urgent issues.

To join us you'll need previous experience of working in a health or care policy environment. You will be able to proactively undertake information searches and write to a high professional standard for both internal and external stakeholders. You will have excellent analytical skills and be able to meet set deadlines and priorities. A high standard of time management, report writing, team working, and IT skills are essential for this post.
