Research and Planning Officer
The LTE Group requires an experienced Research and Planning professional to join our team. The role requires the ability to develop planned, bespoke and ad hoc research projects using the latest external policy evidence, research and information to support growth and identify opportunities across the group`s businesses. Data includes national economic data and analysis; analysis of education and training / apprenticeship provider`s employment rates; learner and employer demand for skills; competitor analysis; reviewing staffing trends on a regional and national basis.

As part of the 35-strong Marketing and External Relations department, the Research and Planning team supports innovation, explores commercial opportunities and informs strategic decision making for businesses across the LTE Group. This new key role is tasked with:
-Providing support for partners` and stakeholders` Labour Market and skills Intelligence, and contributing to the core strategic planning cycles
-To provide technical support on research projects, including data collection, collation, analysis and interpretation, and assistance in report preparation and the development of key recommendations.
-Work closely with colleagues from marketing, communications, policy and public affairs to produce collaborative market research reports to drive strategic decisions and planning in key markets and support engagement and influencing.
-To provide research findings to wider audiences as necessary, through reports, news, website channels and other social media.
-Confident presenter and communicator of research reports to executive and senior colleagues across the group in diverse range of businesses.
-To provide an information service to internal and external customers, supplying up-to-date, relevant and accurate data and analysis that meets their needs. Includes secondary research using the Internet, on-line statistical services and partner research.
-Specialist knowledge of various labour market information tools, and to provide pertinent Labour Market Information to provide information on jobs, occupational and industrial trends
-Analysis of education and training / apprenticeship provider`s employment rates, learner and employer demand for skills
-Reviewing staffing trends, growing and declining occupations and industries within GM priority and National industry sectors
-Contribute to the LTE group`s DataShare with current, relevant and accurate planning, housing and environmental evidence and intelligence.
Applicants must have:
-Degree-level qualification, preferably in cognate / numerate subject
-Recent experience of conducting research projects from design to completion, with hands-on project expertise gained in similar scale, complex organisations
-Detailed understanding of the collection, analysis and use of data, and the application of research methodologies and use of statistics.
-Experience of carrying out quantitative and qualitative surveys, focus groups and face-to-face interviews in strategic positioning the use of data within multiple sectors (preferably in Further / Higher Education, Apprenticeship and Justice education markets.
-An understanding of FE / HE data and systems, with awareness of the Government`s current skills and education policies
-Highly experienced in the use of current IT systems and processes for data analysis and presentations (e.g. Excel, SPSS, GIS)
