The hospital is a specialist independent hospital offering care and treatment to adult men suffering from enduring mental illness who are detained under current mental health legislation and whose needs are best met in a secure environment.

Opened in 2001, the hospital has established an excellent reputation for the high standards of care offered. Treatment and rehabilitation programmes focus on maximising the individuals potential in order that the patients can maintain and improve their quality of life, independence and achievement.
