The SENCO Person Specification
To be considered you will need to be a personable experienced teacher interested in SEN who feels ready for school-wide leadership or a current compassionate SENCO ready for a new challenge. The school are prepared to support the right candidate in achieving their NASENCO award, if this is something you do not already posses. You will have the drive to motivate and inspire your pupils and foster trusting relationships with parents who may initially seem difficult. You should demonstrate your genuine empathy for pupils and promote inclusion and the ability to impart your expert SEN knowledge for the benefit of mainstream class teachers. You should have the capability to understand the importance of external agencies and be able work effectively in a team or independently

About the SENCO Role
In this exciting SENCO position you will be orchestrating the development of SEN teaching, learning and safeguarding . Working successfully alongside external agencies will be a crucial element to your role to ensure that children make sufficient progress and achieve their full potential. A factor for success in this role involves liaising with parents on a regular basis and keeping them up-to-date on relevant changes and developments. You will be monitoring the progress of each SEN student and assessing the progress of each pupil on an individual basis.
