Assistant Accountant - Cambridge, Cambridgeshire

We are currently looking to recruit an enthusiastic individual to join our busy finance department as an Assistant Accountant. You will be responsible for the preparation of management information, completion of statutory returns and supports to business managers and finance team with accurate and timely information. PLEASE NOTE: Although this vacancy is currently based at our Cambridge head office the department is moving to Pampisford, Cambridge (CB22 3HB) in our newly built head office approximately September/October 2017 so the successful candidate will need to be willing to travel to this location. Your role Your main duties and responsibilities will include: Support with the development of business plans and budgets Assist in the production of the MIP (management information pack) Maintain the company fixed asset register Complete the annual P11D's and PSA Complete the quarterly VAT returns Investigate and liaise with Business Managers in relation to all significant variances from their business plans Complete National Statistic forms. Deal with day to day enquiries raised by Business Managers Assist in the preparation of the year-end audit file, including tax packs You We are ideally looking for a candidate who has the following skills and attributes: Numerate, analytical, precise and accurate Have a solid understanding of double entry Previous experience of producing accounts to trial balance Working knowledge of VAT and completing returns Self-starter with the ability to work on their own initiative and to deadlines Clearly results orientated and achieves results with others, not through them Part qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA or equivalent Why work for the Ridgeon Group?
