Payroll Manager
*A Local Authority in northern Buckinghamshire is looking for a Payroll Manager to join their team on a three month contract.

Purpose of the job:
*To provide a commercial, customer focused and cost-effective service to internal or external customers.
*To build and maintain effective working relationships with others; and actively develop and support initiatives that improve services.

Your duties will include:
*You will be ensuring a professional, comprehensive and timely payroll service to the Council and external client organisations and act as the key contact for clients' organisations in respect of Payroll Services.
*You will be managing the payroll team by controlling day to day work, monitoring performance against targets whilst ensuring regulatory compliance and financial control of the payroll section.
*You will be developing and maintaining controls, checks and procedures to minimise errors and promote best practice.
*You will be identifying weaknesses in existing controls, developing improvements and implementing changes.
*You will be leading on ensuring legislative changes, including pension regulations, are dealt with correctly.
*You will be liaising with the HR team and clients officers on a day to day basis, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of employee data, for the purposes of pay variations and changes.
