Recent examples of new products developed & transitioned into manufacture include USB & Twin Switch Socket, 4 & 8 Button Plates for Lighting Controls ("Scene Set Plates"), Hotel Card reader.
- Bespoke Product Development - dealing with end customers (ranging from architects & interior designers to contractor or general public) to design bespoke products to meet their requirements. These products do not include completely new products, but are bespoke configuration of existing components, such as sockets (e.g. 5A, 13A USA, European, etc.), switches (toggle, rocker), modular units or Euromods (e.g. USB chargers, multimedia outlets, network, telephone, etc.). This involves working with customers to combine meeting their requirements with safety requirements.

Must able to converse with installers at a technical level.
- Electrical & mechanical engineering knowledge; both through appropriate qualifications ( ONC, City & Guilds, NVQ) and through hands on experience.
- Experienced of designing electrical products to BS/EN standards such as BS 5733 or BS 1363 etc.
- Electrical accessory experience; prior experience of design & manufacturing of electrical accessories and lighting & other controls (e.g. thermostatic), incorporating pre-programmed & programmable PCBs.

- Materials knowledge & metal finishing experience; products include switches & plates comprised of a variety of metals (e.g. aluminium, brass, stainless steel) and which are finished using a variety of techniques (e.g. anodizing, powder coating).
- Basic workshop skills. The ability to assemble and modify products when making samples will be an advantage. Also the ability to use electrical and mechanical test equipment will be an advantage.
- Flexible & confident. Able to juggle multiple activities alongside a baseline of product development work.
