Large and growing Educational Group seek an experienced Management Accountant to enhance their team and support 3 business units. You should be a finanlist or qualified accountant and possess excellent interpersonal skills and be experienced in talking "finance to non finance managers". Superb opportunity.

Main duties and responsibilities:
• Manage the Finance Officers with the day to day running of three business units and being responsible for their performance management
• Prepare monthly management accounts, including monthly forecast, commentary and cash flow statements for the two business units
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations including inter-company reconciliations, bank reconciliations etc.
• Prepare and post month-end journals.
• Support & guide the budget holders and senior management in their financial management responsibilities
• Closely monitor budgets so to avoid overspend.
• Provide business support to the non finance managers as and when required, including the contractual arrangements for key external providers, such as coach tenders, leisure facilities, etc.
• To ensure that appropriate financial accounting systems, procedures and policies are in place at each unit
• Monitoring expenditure against budget, and providing regular reports to budget holders.
• Prepare annual budgets and forecasts for each unit
• Ensure that external reporting deadlines are met throughout the year.
• Ensuring financial procedures are adhered to and reviewed on a regular basis.
• Overseeing monthly reconciliations of all control accounts
• Prepare the year-end statutory accounts for all three units
• Any other adhoc work that is necessary for the performance of your role
